Reconstruction of Traditional New Year's Rites in the Work of Student Folklore Group

The purpose of the article is to highlight Ukrainian New Year’s Carnival rite Malanka, which best preserved today in Carpathian region, primarily Bukovyna and Galician parts Hutsulshchyna region; characterize main elements ritual performance reconstruct it using ethnographic sources collected by students Folklore Department Rivne State Institute Culture (now University Humanities) 1980s 1990s. Research methodology. In process searching analyzing relevant literature, music-theoretical source studies methods were used. collecting folklore material on state Malanka traditions’ preservation, field used, including interviews, observation, etc. with further primary processing materials conditions a expedition, decoding (transcribing), archiving direct rehearsal stage reconstruction. comparative analytical method was used substantiate conclusions.
